Charlie Hounchell & Stephen Gay
Charlie Hounchell and Stephen Gay are certified accredited luxury home specialists with extensive knowledge of the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Beach markets. Both Charlie and Stephen have ample local and national corporate business experience and solid educational backgrounds. Working in real estate for a combined 20 years, Charlie and Stephen participated in the sale of more than $130 million in their first year with Smith and Associates.
Charlie, a Tampa Bay native and University of Florida College of Law graduate, also operates out of the Law Offices of Charles A Hounchell PA, specializing in real estate law. He possesses an MBA in International Business and, for seven years in Tampa, he owned and operated an award winning medical bill and contract negotiation company (sold in February 2006). Charlie speaks both Spanish and Portuguese and he has lived a total of five years in many different countries, including Spain, Argentina and Brazil.
Stephen, a Virginia native, has lived and worked in Tampa since 1999. He graduated with honors from the University of Virginia and for seven years has worked as VP of Operations for Trinsic Communications here in Tampa. Before joining Trinsic Communications, Stephen worked as an information technology consultant for major telecommunications companies with Accenture in Washington DC (formerly Andersen Consulting). Stephen is a consummate professional dedicated to client service with a proven talent for finding the perfect housing fit for local and out of town client buyers.
Both Charlie and Stephen actively support the Tampa Bay Community by currently serving on the Board of Directors of a number of different Bay Area organizations, including The Spring of Tampa Bay, The Tampa Bay Business Committee for the Arts, Earth Charter Communities, USA and The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. Charlie is a 2006 graduate of The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Leadership Tampa Class.

Lynne Shoars joined Smith in June 2008 after working the last two years with another local brokerage, where she was Project Manager for a local historic rehabilitation condominium development. Under her leadership of sales, day-to-day management, and developer client management, she was personally responsible for closing over seven million in transactions in 2007 alone (the project sales totaled over eight million), proving her ability to close deals and satisfy a multitude of clients in any market. Lynne's success in her first rookie year resulted in her being in the top 20% of agent production in her former brokerage. Lynne spent a short time as a Board member of her former Broker's office's executive committee prior to her move to Smith and Associates.
Prior to her recent residential sales success, Lynne spent six years as an Investment Manager with a national real estate investment firm. In that role, she was responsible for managing high net worth developer clients, negotiating partnership agreements and other transactional documents with investors and developers, as well as producing, analyzing, and presenting financial projections that focused on detailed tax benefits and cash flow returns to both investors and developers. Lynne spent six of her eight years in Tampa as a volunteer for the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, where she was elected as an Officer and Director of the Board for three years, acting as Assistant Treasurer, Treasurer, and Secretary. As Treasurer, she was responsible for all accounting, cash and wealth management, annual auditing and tax preparation, state and federal governmental filings, and all financial management and reporting of JLCD accounts.
Lynne is from Rochester, New York, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She obtained her B.A. Cum Laude in Political Science and Economics from St. John Fisher College and her M.B.A. in Finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology. During her undergraduate studies, she was selected to participate in the College's Political Internship Program, where she interned in the office of Congressman Rangel in Washington, D.C. Prior to moving to Tampa, she lived in Baltimore for five years, where she completed graduate class work in Information Science at Johns Hopkins University and also volunteered at her local church. Lynne resides in South Tampa with her husband Ryan.

Barbara Lynch
Barbara Lynch is an accomplished real estate professional with years of experience in real estate investment, home remodeling and representing both buyers and sellers. Barbara has lived most of her life in the Tampa Bay area and she is extremely knowledgeable about the neighborhoods of both Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.
Barbara possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from the University of Florida. Additionally, Barbara holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ.
Barbara speaks Spanish and Portuguese and she has lived and worked in many different countries of South America and Europe.
Barbara is a Certified Public Accountant and she has worked for Deloitte and Touche and MetLife as an internal financial audit specialist. Before coming to Smith and Associates and partnering with Charlie Hounchell and Stephen Gay, Barbara Lynch was the Chief Financial Officer for the award winning cost containment company, Zeneks, Inc. (sold in February 2006).
Barbara is a partner and co-owner of the South Tampa Home Furnishings Boutique, Casa Nova (located at 3119 Bay to Bay Blvd). Casa Nova specializes in residential and commercial real estate staging and design.

Lara Champ
Lara Champ, a native of the Tampa Bay area, possesses extensive expertise in home design and offers an invaluable touch to the Casa Nova experience. She has worked as a professional in the real estate industry in the Tampa Bay area for over 10 years in various magnitudes including property management, mortgage brokering, and interior design. Lara currently is the Executive Manager and Design Consultant for Casa Nova and CN Real Estate. Her depth of experience and taste for design provides a unique dynamic that helps make Casa Nova a one stop shop for its customers.
Lara began her career in real estate working solely as a property manager in the South Tampa area. She completed the lease-up of the high-end waterfront property 345 Bayshore, managing sales, marketing, and all levels of retail design, construction design, and interior design. After 345 Bayshore, Lara managed the Davis Island Apartments property for 3 years and continued in real estate management at Noble-Perez LLC, an investment real estate entity. At Noble-Perez, Lara not only worked as the property manager, but was also the coordinator on all renovations and remodels, allowing her to develop a broad spectrum of abilities in the arena of architectural and interior home design and focus on improving property value for resale.
Directly prior to joining the Casa Nova team, Lara expanded her design skills into the retail industry, working as a Merchandising Coordinator for the New York based Parigi Group Ltd. Parigi specializes in the design and merchandising of 8 children's clothing lines, including DKNY and Puma, in all Kids' departments at major department stores nationwide. Lara worked directly with management in New York and the department store buyers to coordinate sales planning and merchandising tactics to maximize the allure of the products on display at 25 stores in the west and central regions of Florida.
Throughout her professional career, Lara has also worked as a residential mortgage broker and remains an active licensed broker in the state of Florida. Lara's business as a mortgage professional has prevailed through the current declining market as her customer base has remained loyal due to her integrity and exceptional customer service. Lara prides herself in making a difference in each of her customer's lives.
